Idox Geospatial was formed following the acquisition of four specialist geospatial data businesses by Idox plc. While each company brought deep expertise, the new division lacked a unifying identity, clear proposition, and presence in a highly competitive national market. SIM7 was asked to help define a credible, confident brand that could sit alongside the established Idox plc identity, unify multiple legacies, and position Idox Geospatial as a serious, top-tier supplier from day one.

Creative strategy
We began by working closely with teams across the business, interviewing stakeholders from each of the legacy companies to understand their strengths, cultures, and perspectives. Using our StoryMining approach, we discovered shared sentiments, stories, and ambitions that weren’t immediately visible, helping the new division articulate what truly unified it. From there, we shaped a clear proposition and strategy that balanced independence with alignment to the parent brand, providing clarity internally and confidence externally.

Following the launch of Idox Geospatial, our role evolved from brand partner to creative team. As the business has grown, we have continued to support the division across strategy, campaigns, content and internal communications, working closely with stakeholders to ensure the brand remained consistent, relevant, and effective.
