Account Manager

SIM7 | Bristol | Full Time | £31,000–£36,000

This role lives in the overlap between running projects well and having a sharp eye for the creative output.

We need someone who can look at a headline and tell us it’s not landing. Someone who reads a brand narrative and spots where the argument falls apart. Someone who sits between our clients and our studio, not as a go-between, but as a person whose opinion genuinely shapes the work.

If you can critique a piece of design as confidently as you can run a project plan, keep reading.

About SIM7

SIM7 is a language-first creative consultancy. We build brands from the words up: positioning, verbal identity, editorial content, campaigns. Our clients include the British Council, ESCP Business School, and the University of St.Gallen. We’re a close-knit team, working from a converted fire station in Bedminster, Bristol.

We’re small and we like it that way. It means everyone has a say, decisions happen quickly, and the work you do has a direct impact on where the agency goes next. We hold ourselves to high standards, we treat people well, and we don’t take ourselves too seriously while doing it.

The role

You’ll be the day-to-day point of contact for a portfolio of clients, with around half your time focused on flagship European accounts delivering ongoing brand and editorial work. You’ll write briefs, manage timelines and keep projects on track.

But the thing that sets this role apart is creative judgement. We need you to look at work before it goes to clients and have a proper opinion on it. Is the copy doing its job or meeting the brief? Does the design feel right for the brand? Is the messaging clear? You won’t be designing or writing, but you need to be able to tell when something isn’t working and articulate why.

What you’ll do

•  Own client relationships. Be the person they trust to understand their brand, brief clearly and flag problems early.

•  Write creative briefs that set the studio up to do great work, not just briefs that capture requirements.

•  Review work before it reaches the client, with an editorial eye and a feel for what’s visually right.

•  Manage budgets, timelines and scopes without letting the admin consume the thinking.

•  Spot opportunities to grow accounts and contribute to new business conversations.

•  Work closely with our Account Director and founder to shape how the agency develops.

Who you are

You’ve worked agency-side, ideally in a creative, branding or communications environment. You’ve managed multi-channel projects (for more than one client at a time) and you’re comfortable with competing priorities.

More importantly, you care about the quality of the work. You read things properly. You notice when a layout isn’t sitting right or a piece of copy doesn’t sound like the brand. You ask good questions and you’re not afraid to push back, constructively, when something isn’t there yet.

You’re looking for somewhere you can have genuine influence, not just responsibility. Somewhere your contribution shapes the business, not just keeps it ticking.

The practical stuff

•  £31,000–£36,000 per annum – depending on experience

•  Full time

•  25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays

•  Your birthday off

•  Studio-based in Bristol
